Why this matters
Reading rates are declining. At the same time, economic uncertainty means more people are watching every penny they spend. Those two things are connected.
Research consistently shows that reading reduces stress, improves cognitive function, and builds empathy. Books are one of the most cost-effective ways to look after your mental health. But when money is tight, a full-price Kindle book feels like a luxury.
It doesn't have to be that way. Thousands of great books go on sale, drop to 99p, or become completely free every single week. The problem is finding them before the deal ends.
That's what Vagrant Press does.
For readers
We track thousands of Kindle books and monitor their prices daily. When a book drops, we know about it. More importantly, we can tell you whether now is the right time to buy, or whether you're better off waiting.
Every book on Vagrant Press comes with real pricing data. Price history charts, sale predictions, buy-or-wait verdicts. Not guesswork. Not opinions. Data.

For authors
Vagrant Press was founded by a self-published author. We know the biggest challenge isn't writing the book. It's getting it in front of readers.
The traditional promotional playbook for indie authors is exhausting and expensive. Social media algorithms bury organic posts. Paid ads eat margins on low-priced ebooks. Newsletter swaps are hit-and-miss. Most authors end up shouting into the void.
We're building a different path. Vagrant Press puts your book in front of readers who are actively looking for something to read in your genre. Not scrolling past an ad. Not half-reading a newsletter. Actively searching.
Submit your book and let us connect it with the right readers.
What makes us different
Most book deal sites blast you with a firehose of mediocre freebies. We're not interested in volume for the sake of volume.
Every book on Vagrant Press has real data behind it. Price history, rating trends, review velocity, sale predictions. We tell you whether to buy now or wait. We show you what's genuinely worth reading versus what's just cheap.
We believe readers deserve better tools for finding great books. And authors deserve better ways to reach the people who'll love their work.
Why “Vagrant Press”?
The founder of Vagrant Press, Pete, left his job years ago to go freelance as a copywriter. That turned into a digital nomad chapter that spanned years and continents. Southeast Asia, South America, Europe. Always moving, always working, always reading.
The one constant through all of it was a Kindle. Airports, buses, hammocks, coffee shops in cities he couldn't spell. Wherever he ended up, there was always a book.
The vagrant life eventually gave way to a London base, but the name stuck. Vagrant for the wandering, restless reader who's always searching for the next great book. Press because the longer-term mission is to help more authors get their work into the hands of readers who'll love it.

Bookshops visited along the way. Some habits follow you everywhere.
The founder
Vagrant Press was created by Pete Boyle, a reader, writer, and self-published author who got tired of the disconnect between great books and the people who'd love them.
After publishing several books and experiencing firsthand how difficult discoverability is for indie authors, Pete built Vagrant Press to solve the problem from both sides. Help readers find books worth reading at prices they can afford. Help authors get discovered by readers who are actively looking.
