Books change lives. They should be accessible to everyone.

Vagrant Press exists to connect readers with great books at the right price, and to help authors find the readers who need their work.

Why this matters

Reading's in decline and money's tight. Those aren't two separate stories. When every pound is spoken for, a full-price Kindle book starts to feel like an indulgence, even though it's one of the cheapest ways going to switch your brain off for an hour.

But thousands of good books go on sale, drop to 99p, or turn completely free every week. The only catch is finding them before the price snaps back up.

That's the job we took on.

For readers

We track thousands of Kindle books and check their prices every day. When one drops, we know. And we tell you the part that actually matters. Buy it now, or hold off because this one tends to go lower.

Every book here carries its own price history. You can see what it usually sells for, what it's dropped to before, and whether today's deal is a genuine one or just dressed up to look that way. The charts do the arguing, so you never have to take our word for it.

For authors

Vagrant Press was started by a self-published author, so trust me, the writing was the easy bit. Getting someone to actually read the thing is where it falls apart.

You know the playbook. Post into the algorithm and watch it get buried. Pour money into ads that eat your margin on a 99p ebook. Swap newsletters and hope. Most indie authors spend their whole launch marketing to other indie authors.

Vagrant Press flips it. Readers come here hunting for their next book, and yours sits right in their path, in their genre, the moment they're actually looking. No shouting into the void required.

Submit your book and we'll do the rest.

What makes us different

Most deal sites bury you in freebies. Hundreds of them, most not worth the space on your Kindle. We'd rather point you at 10 books worth reading than 200 you'll open once and forget.

So every book gets checked. How it's rated, how many people rated it, how the price has moved over months, not just whether it's cheap this morning. Cheap and good aren't the same thing, and we won't pretend they are.

Readers should have better tools for finding books worth their time. Authors should have a better shot at the readers who'll love their work. That's the whole reason this thing exists.

Why “Vagrant Press”?

The founder of Vagrant Press, Pete, left his job years ago to go freelance as a copywriter. That turned into a digital nomad chapter that ran for years across Southeast Asia, South America, and Europe. Always on the move, usually working, never without something to read.

The one constant through all of it was a Kindle. Airports, buses, hammocks, coffee shops in cities he couldn't spell. Wherever he ended up, there was always a book.

The vagrant life eventually gave way to a London base, but the name stuck. Vagrant for the wandering, restless reader who's always searching for the next great book. Press because the longer-term mission is to help more authors get their work into the hands of readers who'll love it.

The founder

Vagrant Press was created by Pete Boyle, a reader, writer, and self-published author who got tired of watching good books and the people who'd love them never quite find each other.

After putting out a few books of his own and running face-first into how hard discoverability is for indie authors, Pete built Vagrant Press to fix it from both ends. Help readers find books worth reading at a price they can afford. Help authors get found by the readers who are already looking for them.
