Links to Amazon are affiliate links that pay a few pennies a sale and, at scale, keep the lights on. And as the reader audience grows, authors will be able to pay to feature a book to a genre or top a deal email, the same way BookBub sells its sponsored slots.
That’s the whole model. We don’t resell your data and there’s no catch buried in the terms. The free listing is free because the maths already works without charging you for it.
