Vagrant Press is operated by Pete Boyle. Our website is vagrantpress.com.
We are based in the United Kingdom and comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What data we collect

- Account information. Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account.
- Genre preferences. The genres you select to personalise your experience and deal digests.
- Watchlist data. The books you add to your watchlist.
- Email preferences. Your choices about which notifications and digests you want to receive.
- Contact form submissions. Any information you provide when contacting us through the site.
- Book submissions. If you are an author, the information you submit about your book for listing on Vagrant Press.
- Usage data. Anonymised data about pages visited and how the site is used, collected to improve the service.
Why we collect it
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To provide the service. Watchlists, price alerts, and genre-based deal digests all require us to know who you are and what you are interested in.
- To improve the service. Anonymised usage data helps us understand how people use Vagrant Press so we can make it better.
- To communicate with you. Transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets) and deal digests you have opted into.
- To process author book submissions. If you submit a book for listing, we use the information you provide to review and list it.
The legal basis for processing your data is your consent (when you create an account or opt into notifications) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service.
Cookies
Vagrant Press uses a limited number of cookies, all of which serve a functional purpose.
- Essential cookies. Required for authentication and session management. These are necessary for the site to work and cannot be disabled.

- Amazon. Vagrant Press contains Amazon affiliate links. When you click through to Amazon, their own privacy policy applies to your activity on their site.
- Google. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (name and email) from your Google account to create your Vagrant Press account.
- Email service provider. We use a third-party email service to send notifications, deal digests, and transactional emails. Your email address is shared with this provider solely for the purpose of delivering those emails.
We do not sell your data to anyone.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access. You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification. You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure. You can ask us to delete your personal data.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed.
Contact form submissions are kept for 12 months, after which they are deleted.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
