Afterparty

A scientist pursues a dangerous journey across North America to contain a drug she helped create in this science fiction thriller. Set in Toronto in a future where chemjet printers allow anyone to synthesize drugs from downloaded recipes, the story begins when a seventeen-year-old street girl discovers a brain-altering drug called Numinous used as a sacrament by a church targeting the underclass. After her arrest and detention, she takes her own life when separated from the drug. Lyda Rose, another detainee, harbors a critical secret: she was one of the five original scientists who developed Numinous. With assistance from a former government agent and an imaginary drug-induced doctor, Lyda searches for the three other surviving creators to undo what they have done.
