About this book

This is the 23rd book in the DSI William Lorimer series. Lorimer travels to the Isle of Mull for the funeral of an old friend, Mary Grant, who died of a sudden heart attack. The island is a place he and his wife, Maggie, have visited often to walk its windswept coasts and picturesque lochs. At the funeral, one of Mary's closest friends approaches Lorimer, convinced that Mary's death was not natural. When this friend also dies in a sudden accident shortly after, Lorimer begins investigating what appears to be a double murder. Despite Mull's reputation for spectacular beauty and characterful towns, Lorimer discovers that old secrets can resurface, resentments run deep, and hidden dangers exist even in remote communities.
