Michael Vecchione served as chief of the Brooklyn District Attorney's Rackets Division from 2001 to 2013, leading the largest urban prosecution agency in the country. During his tenure, he supervised, investigated, and prosecuted major felony cases involving organized crime, dirty politicians, and corrupt officials. Crooked Brooklyn recounts Vecchione's experiences navigating investigations into corruption and greed across multiple crime categories. His cases resulted in convictions of three state Supreme Court judges, one of the country's most powerful political bosses, two police officers working as assassins for the Mafia, a State Assemblywoman, an FBI agent, and a corrupt oral surgeon who sold bones from deceased individuals to medical supply companies.
