Damascus Station: A Novel

Damascus Station is a thriller about a CIA case officer named Sam Joseph who is sent to Paris to recruit Mariam Haddad, a Syrian Palace official. The two develop a forbidden relationship that intensifies her recruitment but puts them both at risk when they travel to Damascus to investigate the disappearance of an American spy. Their search for the person responsible leads them to uncover a series of high-profile assassinations and a secret within the Syrian regime. As they pursue the case, they draw the attention of Ali Hassan, Assad's spy catcher, and his brother Rustum, who heads the Republican Guard. Set in war-torn Syria, the novel explores espionage, love, loyalty, and betrayal during one of the CIA's most challenging operations. The book was a finalist for the 2022 ITW Thriller Award for Best First Novel.
