Deputy U.S. Marshals Arliss Cutter and Lola Teariki are conducting a manhunt during an Alaskan winter at frozen Cheney Lake. Their target is Butch Pritchard, a hired killer wanted for the murder of a 25-year-old pregnant woman in Missouri. The crime was orchestrated by the victim's husband, Royce Decker, a former St. Louis Metro PD member who is also wanted.
