Friction

Crawford Hunt, a Texas Ranger with a troubled past, seeks custody of his five-year-old daughter Georgia, who has been in her grandparents' care since his wife's death four years ago. After cleaning up his life and meeting court requirements, his custody case goes before Judge Holly Spencer, an ambitious judge facing an upcoming election. Though Crawford has reformed, Holly is cautious about his history. During the custody hearing, a masked gunman enters the courtroom. Crawford instinctively acts to protect Holly, but his actions are later viewed as reckless. As the gunman remains at large, Crawford discovers a disturbing truth and begins considering vengeance. He realizes that pursuing the killer will harm his chances of gaining custody and will endanger Holly, with whom he shares a forbidden attraction. Crawford must navigate the conflict between seeking justice and protecting his opportunity to reunite with his daughter.
