A political assassination pulls an investigative reporter into a conspiracy. Dean Dawson's estranged father died in a boating accident four months earlier, leaving Dean and his brothers with conflicted feelings about a man who abandoned them and lived a life of lies and broken promises. But the death becomes increasingly mysterious. When a presidential candidate is assassinated in Austin, Dean is contacted by April North, his former girlfriend and an associate of his father at a major law firm. She has discovered something alarming: a cryptic text on her boss's phone that implicates the firm in the assassination and suggests Dean's father may still be alive. As the brothers are drawn into the conspiracy, Dean and April become targets of an assassin. They must evade capture to uncover the truth about Dean's father and his dangerous secrets.
