A young mother living on the Louisiana bayou and a man accused of murder must solve a corruption case while fleeing a dangerous manhunt. When Honor Gillette's four-year-old daughter reports a sick man in their yard, Honor goes to help him—only to discover he is Lee Coburn, accused of murdering seven people the previous night. Armed and desperate, Coburn forces Honor to comply with his demands, promising she and her daughter will remain unharmed if she obeys. Coburn claims that Honor's late husband possessed something extremely valuable—a treasure that now puts Honor and her daughter in grave danger. He has come to retrieve it at any cost. Honor soon realizes that even her friends cannot be trusted.
