About this book

Sam Johnstone, a disabled veteran and attorney, takes a job at a boutique law firm in rural Wyoming seeking a fresh start after years of war and personal turmoil. When a local woman is brutally murdered, Sam initially wants no involvement, but meets with the accused—Tommy Olsen, a known delinquent who had been involved with the victim—to ensure he has legal representation. What appears to be a straightforward case becomes increasingly complex as new facts emerge. Sam agrees to serve as Tommy's defense attorney and becomes entangled in small-town politics and courtroom drama. With the killer's identity still unknown, the investigation grows more shocking with each revelation. If Sam cannot uncover the truth, an innocent person may be punished while the actual killer remains free. This is the first book in the Sam Johnstone legal thriller series.
