More Than Convenience: Inspired by Pride and Prejudice

In this Pride and Prejudice variation, Fitzwilliam Darcy, a wealthy widower from Derbyshire, has completed his mourning period following an unhappy marriage of convenience to his deceased cousin Anne de Bourgh. He arrives in London for the season determined to find a new mother for his four-year-old child, though he holds little hope of marrying for love. Elizabeth Bennet has always pledged to marry only for the deepest love. However, her father's recent illness has forced her toward practicality. She joins her Gardiner relations in Town with the goal of finding a husband. When Darcy and Elizabeth are introduced by a mutual friend, both harbor reservations about pursuing a courtship.
