About this book

The third book in the military science fiction series follows Nick Seafort as he recovers from injuries sustained in the previous novel. He is appointed liaison between Hope Nation's wealthy planters and the United Nations Navy, as acid-spewing, fish-shaped aliens pose an ongoing threat. When the fleet returns to Earth, discontent spreads among Hope Nation's residents, who feel abandoned by the military and vulnerable to the alien threat. Seafort faces opposition from powerful rebels at home, the aliens themselves, and his own doubts. He confronts a critical decision that could protect Hope Nation but would result in his own death.
