About this book

Rainbow Black follows Lacey Bond, a 13-year-old girl living in rural New Hampshire with her hippie parents who run a daycare center. In the summer of 1990, the Satanic Panic reaches her community, and her parents are arrested and jailed amid accusations tied to a wave of mass hysteria sweeping the nation. When a murder occurs, Lacey makes a consequential choice that will affect her for decades to come. As an adult, Lacey has built a quiet life as a law clerk for a prominent judge. She has a girlfriend and has largely faded from public attention. However, a minor legal misstep escalates into a serious crisis, threatening to reignite the hysteria of her past. The novel combines elements of murder mystery and love story, spanning 20 years and set against the backdrop of the 1990s Satanic Panic. It is the latest work from Maggie Thrash, author of Honor Girl.
