Tea & Alchemy

In Cornwall in 1854, Mina Penrose works at The Magpie, a tearoom on the edge of the village of Roche. She reads tea leaves and has begun to see shapes in the leaves that suggest future events. After one such omen, she discovers a murdered man on the heath. Villagers suspect Harker Tregarrick, a reclusive man who lives in a black granite tower above the moorland and rarely leaves his centuries-old estate. Days after the murder, Tregarrick visits The Magpie, where he meets Mina. Drawn to him despite the danger and rumors surrounding him, Mina becomes captivated. She seeks to learn about his past and uncover the truth about the murder, while navigating the tragedy that has shadowed her own life.
