The Good Lie

Six teenagers have been murdered in a case involving the Bloody Heart serial killer. A teenage victim escaped and identified local high school teacher Randall Thompson as the killer. Thompson is now in custody, and the case appears closed. Psychiatrist Dr. Gwen Moore has spent a decade treating California's most dangerous criminals and studying their motives. She considers the evidence against Thompson conclusive. However, a new development emerges when defense attorney Robert Kavin takes on Thompson's case. Kavin, himself a traumatized father whose son was killed by the Bloody Heart Killer, believes Thompson is innocent. He asks Gwen to interview Thompson, create a psychological profile of the killer and victims, and help prove his client's innocence. As Gwen and Robert work together and she investigates further, troubling questions surface. Gwen begins to suspect that Robert is concealing something—and that he may not be alone in keeping secrets.
