About this book

Chester Greene seeks help from New York District Attorney John Markham after someone breaks into his family's East Side mansion, kills one sister and wounds another. Vance must determine whether a family member is responsible, if a servant has a motive, who left footprints in the snow, and whether the paralytic Mrs. Greene can actually walk. He races to identify the killer before more members of the Greene family are murdered.
