About this book

A dual-timeline novel set across two centuries. In 1912, as the steamship Carpathia carries Titanic survivors to New York, Lucy searches desperately for her baby, who was placed in another woman's arms as a lifeboat departed. Madeleine, assisting her journalist husband in interviewing survivors, meets Lucy and promises to help locate her lost child. In 2022, archivist Jackie discovers a notebook containing stories from women rescued by the Carpathia in an auction lot. Learning of the missing baby, and driven by her own desire to start a family, Jackie begins investigating the case. Her search uncovers a century-old mystery. Inspired by true events, the novel weaves together historical and fictional narratives across the two time periods.
