The Proposition

Lady Edwina Bollash, a linguist, accepts a challenge to transform the brash and handsome Mick Tremore into a gentleman within six weeks. Though confident in her ability to complete the task, Edwina worries about her composure under his sensuous attention. Mick, having lived outside London society, recognizes that appearances deceive. While Edwina presents herself as the perfect buttoned-up English lady, he senses passionate depths beneath her composed exterior. As Edwina prepares Mick for his place in society, he works to win her heart and affection. The novel features protagonists who grow more endearing throughout, secondary characters including a ferret named Freddie, and sexual tension alongside love scenes. The story addresses inequities women faced during the late Victorian era.
