The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers

Nicholas Irving's memoir recounts his career as a Special Operations Direct Action Sniper with the 3rd Ranger Battalion. Irving achieved 33 confirmed kills, with an unknown total when including probable kills. He describes his deployment to Afghanistan in summer 2009, where he set a record for enemy kills during a single deployment. His teammates and chain of command gave him the nickname "The Reaper" based on his battlefield actions. Irving's account covers his development as a sniper, including combat missions during the Global War on Terrorism. The memoir details the brotherhood and sacrifice among teammates in battle, as well as the experience of taking lives in combat. A significant portion focuses on a confrontation with an enemy sniper known as The Chechnian. The book offers a first-person perspective on special operations sniper work during this period.
