The Serialist: A Novel

Harry Bloch is a ghostwriter living in Queens in his late mother's apartment, writing pulpy barbarians-in-space novels and vampire romances for a modest living. His career prospects shift when he gains exclusive access to Darian Clay, an imprisoned serial killer who tortured and beheaded four women in New York City, just before Clay's execution date. Bloch sees the opportunity as a potential breakthrough for his stalled career. However, women begin dying in the exact manner of Clay's previous victims. Bloch becomes the prime suspect after discovering the bodies, forcing him to track down the copycat killer to clear his name. The novel follows Bloch as he navigates this dangerous situation while proving that even mediocre people should not be underestimated.
