About this book

A teenage boy jumps to his death from a bridge in Umeå, Sweden, with drugs found scattered nearby. Detective Charlotte von Klint has relocated from Stockholm to Umeå with her teenage daughter, expecting a quieter posting. When a pharmacist is murdered in her apartment and a young girl and her dealer boyfriend disappear after a party, the cases begin to seem connected. Charlotte questions whether the dealer is responsible or another victim. Complications arise when Tony Israelsson, a Syndicate boss from Charlotte's past, is released from prison and reportedly heading to Umeå. As Charlotte and her boss, local detective Per Berg, investigate, the body count rises and time becomes critical.
