About this book

The protagonist, a being literally described as a box, harbors dangerous darkness within that could destroy their world if released. Christopher Jupiter, a witch responsible for the Great Suffocation and the deaths of thousands, has discovered this darkness and seeks to obtain it for himself. Jupiter is not particularly powerful, but he is intelligent and strategic. He already knows how to extract what lies within the protagonist. A race against time ensues to locate and destroy an artifact before Jupiter can use it to break the protagonist open. The protagonist faces an additional obstacle: they cannot confide in Romeo about what they contain, making it impossible to stop Christopher alone. This is the fourth book in the Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth urban fantasy series.
