About this book

A Spy at War is the second novel in the Oxford Spy Ring series. Set in August 2022, the story follows Simon Sharman as he pursues the assassin of a former colleague across war-torn Ukraine. Simultaneously, a Russian spy ring operating within the British Establishment continues efforts to undermine Western support for Ukraine. In the Donbas region, Sharman becomes entangled in a covert conflict between Russia and the West. The narrative spans from the ruins of Bakhmut to the corridors of Whitehall, exploring the hidden struggle over Ukraine both on the battlefield and in the arena of global public opinion. The novel examines whether a single spy can influence the course of a major conflict. Charles Beaumont is a former MI6 operative. This is his second espionage thriller.
