About this book

Ken McNab's account examines The Beatles' final year, detailing their breakup through the perspectives of all four band members and their individual roles. The book reconstructs events from 1969, when the band experienced both creative peaks and internal conflict that ultimately led to their dissolution. During this period, The Beatles faced mounting pressures: they were being filmed during rehearsals and writing sessions for the documentary Get Back, their company Apple Corps was facing bankruptcy, Lennon's heroin use created strain, and musical disagreements intensified. The group argued frequently, and their previously close friendship deteriorated. Despite this turmoil, the band produced Let It Be and Abbey Road, their final two albums.
