Kylie Galen returns to Shadow Falls, a camp for supernatural teens, in this second installment of the series. She continues her search to understand her own supernatural identity while surrounded by vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, fairies, and witches, and to learn what her developing powers mean. Kylie is visited by a spirit who warns that someone she knows and loves will die before summer ends, but she doesn't know who needs saving or how to help. Meanwhile, her personal life grows complicated: werewolf Lucas, who left camp with another girl, still visits her in dreams, while Derek, a half Fae who has supported her, wants their relationship to become more serious and grows impatient when Lucas returns.
