Chelsea Horror Hotel: A Novel

Dee Dee Ramone and his wife Barbara move into the Chelsea Hotel with their dog Banfield, where Dee Dee spends his time trying to score drugs and walking the dog, with whom he can communicate. He dislikes his neighbors and harbors violent thoughts, though he avoids violence himself. Dee Dee believes his room is where Sid Vicious stabbed Nancy Spungen, and he begins experiencing nightmares of Nancy emerging from the bathroom with a knife wound. After one nightmare, an evil force enters his room and throws him against a wall. He becomes involved with the transvestite lover of a fellow gay addict, leading to a serious fight with his wife that leaves both wounded. Throughout his stay, Dee Dee is tormented by demons—both living and dead—that inhabit the hotel, as well as the ghosts of deceased punk rock friends Sid Vicious, Johnny Thunders, and Stiv Bators. The Devil himself eventually arrives at the hotel.
