Clock Striker, Volume 2: The Sharing Society is the sequel to the first volume, featuring a Black female lead character in shonen manga. The story combines sci-fi, steampunk, and action-adventure elements as teenage hero Cast attempts to rescue her friend Klaus while navigating a town with an unfamiliar sharing culture. Cast and her mentor Ms. Philomena Clock, both engineer-warriors called SMITHS, work to uncover something troubling before it becomes critical. Klaus, a runaway prince, has been captured by cybernetic outlaws known as the Demon Bandits. Cast's journey beyond her hometown takes her across rough terrain and into the strange kingdom of Alter, testing her abilities in new ways. As a rival SMITH and STRIKER pursue them, and the mysterious King of Alter—who rules a powerful kingdom without advanced technology—poses a threat, Cast and her mentor must work together to save the day. Rated T for Teen and recommended for ages 13 and up. This volume is part of Saturday AM TANKS, a graphic novel format featuring select color pages, revised artwork, and post-credit scenes. The first volume won the 2024 YALSA Great Graphic Novel for Teens and the 2022 Dwayne McDuffie Award for Diversity in Comics Finalist designation, among other honors.
