About this book

Days of Infamy is the second novel in an alternative history series set in the Pacific Theater of World War II. It explores what might have happened after Japan's Admiral Yamamoto led the attack on Pearl Harbor. Building on the first book's premise—in which Yamamoto directly commanded the attack instead of remaining in Japan—Days of Infamy begins minutes after Pearl Harbor concludes. With direct command of six carriers, Yamamoto decides to launch a third-wave attack on Oahu and keeps his fleet in the area to pursue surviving American aircraft carriers that were not in the harbor that day. The narrative follows this alternative history from multiple perspectives, including President Roosevelt, Prime Minister Churchill, the two admirals, and American pilots flying outdated aircraft against the superior Imperial Japanese Navy. The story pits the gambler Yamamoto against American Admiral Bill Halsey in a battle of strategy and skill. It combines historical figures with fictional characters to examine how a single decision might have profoundly altered American history.
