Tue Nguyen, known on social media as @TwayDaBae, immigrated to the United States from Vietnam at age eight. Though her mother was an accomplished cook and inspired many of her recipes, Tue's parents initially opposed her decision to pursue a culinary career. She attended culinary school and has since been featured in publications including People magazine. Her restaurant, Didi in West Hollywood, has received coverage from the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, The Infatuation, and Eater. Di An presents authentic Vietnamese recipes organized around salty, sour, sweet, and spicy flavor profiles. The recipes have been adapted for modern home cooks while retaining bold flavors from ingredients like lemongrass, garlic, shallots, chili peppers, and fish sauce.
