About this book

Emily Wilde is a folklore scholar who has written the first comprehensive encyclopedia of faeries. She has learned many secrets of the Hidden Ones through her adventures and from Wendell Bambleby, a fellow scholar and her former rival. Bambleby is actually an exiled faerie king fleeing his murderous mother and seeking a way back to his realm. Despite her feelings for him, Emily is not ready to accept his marriage proposal, as loving one of the Fair Folk carries secrets and dangers. Emily is now working on a new project: mapping the realms of faerie. When assassins sent by Bambleby's mother invade Cambridge, Emily and Bambleby flee to the Austrian Alps, where Emily believes they may find the door to his realm and a way to free him from his family's dark plans. As they navigate this new adventure, Emily must contend with new relationships and dangerous Folk while uncovering the mysteries of faerie doors and her own heart. This is the second book in the Emily Wilde series.
