Enough Rope

Enough Rope is a collection of short stories by Lawrence Block featuring his series characters: ex-cop Matt Scudder, bookselling burglar Bernie Rhodenbarr, the duo of Chip Harrison and Leo Haig, Keller the hit man, and attorney Martin Ehrengraf. The collection also includes dozens of other characters from Block's work. The volume combines all stories from Block's three previous collections with two dozen new stories, spanning from early work like "You Can't Lose" (1957) to recent pieces such as "Terrible Tommy Terhune." Six of Block's stories have been short-listed for the Edgar Award, with three winning it. The stories vary in tone, ranging from suspenseful to humorous, and feature intricate plots.
