Earth has been devastated by nuclear war. The asteroid-starship Thistledown orbits the planet, housing the civilization of humanity's descendants. For decades, its residents have worked to restore Earth and aid its survivors, but their resources are limited. They need to reopen the Way. The Way is an interdimensional gateway to a multiverse of alternate realities. It was severed from Thistledown to prevent an alien invasion and now exists as its own universe. Reopening it would benefit both Earth and allow Thistledown's residents to return home.
