Evil Bones (A Temperance Brennan Novel)

Forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan investigates a series of mutilated small animals found throughout Charlotte, North Carolina. When the killings escalate to a dog and then a human victim posed in a similar manner, Tempe partners with semi-retired homicide detective Erskine "Skinny" Slidell to catch the perpetrator. Tempe consults a forensic psychologist, who warns that the escalating pattern of violence suggests the killer may be shifting focus to humans. As the investigation deepens, people close to Tempe begin to go missing, and it becomes clear she is being deliberately targeted in a twisted game. With time running out, Tempe and Slidell race to stop the killer before more victims fall.
