Exodus: The Archimedes Engine

Forty thousand years ago, humanity fled a dying Earth aboard massive arkships, spreading across the galaxy in search of a new home. After traveling thousands of light-years, one fleet arrived at Centauri, a dense cluster of stars with numerous potentially habitable planets, and signaled that humanity had found its new home. Thousands of years later, the Centauri Cluster has flourished. The original settlers evolved into advanced beings called Celestials, dividing into powerful Dominions. The Crown Celestials, an alliance of five great houses, controls vast areas of Centauri. As more arkships arrive, remaining humans and their descendants must fight for survival or face servitude to the Crown Dominion. Finn, born on a Crown Dominion world, knows only the repressive rule of the Celestials. For him, Earth is ancient history rather than memory. He dreams of boundless space beyond his home. When an arkship from Earth, long thought lost, unexpectedly arrives, Finn sees his opportunity to become a Traveler—one of a group of heroes dedicated to ensuring humanity's future by journeying into distant space.
