Hillary Cox, a writer, is shocked when her lover of 27 years, mining magnate John St. George, announces on television that he is marrying another woman. Seeking revenge, Hillary begins writing a tell-all book that exposes John and his questionable past. John's sister, Pamela St. George, also pursues revenge against her brother, who has mistreated her throughout her life. While Hillary attempts to move past her obsession, Pamela works to take control of the family's tourmaline mining business from John and to find Cutter Reid, the man she has always loved but whom John has kept from her.
