Godfall

Sheriff David Blunt of Little Springs, Nebraska (population 731) faces a series of brutal murders following an extraordinary event: a three-mile-tall being has fallen to Earth just outside town. Dubbed "the giant," the creature appears dead and is decidedly not human. The arrival has transformed the quiet farm town into a major hub, now home to one hundred thousand new residents including soldiers, scientists, bureaucrats, spies, criminals, and conspiracy theorists. Blunt's role expands beyond keeping peace among locals he has known his life—he must now manage cultist crowds, broker peace between government agencies, and investigate a murder spree. As killings strike closer to home, Blunt must solve multiple interconnected mysteries: what fell from the sky, how it connects to the murders, and who the killer is—all while trying to save his hometown from being lost forever.
