Harvest of Stars

In a future where individual freedom has been eliminated, North America exists as a police state under the control of the Avantist government, a techno-religious dictatorship. Space remains free due to the Fireball Corporation, founded by Anson Guthrie, whose physical body died generations ago but whose consciousness was preserved in digital form, allowing him to guide his followers and employees. The totalitarian Avantist regime, led by secret policeman Enrique Sayre, obtains a copy of Guthrie's digital consciousness with plans to corrupt it and use it against Fireball, threatening the corporation's control of space. To prevent this, pilot Kyra Davis must smuggle an uncorrupted version of Guthrie out of North America to the moon and beyond, where his digital form can work to spark a revolution that could destabilize Earth's dictatorship. This novel is the first in a series that includes The Stars Are Also Fire, Harvest the Fire, and Fleet of Stars.
