Hell's Gate: A Thriller

A zoologist must stop a catastrophic plot after an abandoned Japanese submarine is discovered deep in the Brazilian wilderness during World War II. In 1944, Army intelligence discovers a three-hundred-foot Japanese submarine marooned and empty in the Brazilian interior. When a team of Army Rangers sent to investigate goes missing, the military dispatches Captain R. J. MacCready, a scientist and quick-witted problem-solver, to determine why the Japanese are there and what they plan. Parachuting into a mist-shrouded valley beneath a two-thousand-foot plateau, MacCready reunites with Bob Thorne, a botanist friend presumed dead for years. Thorne lives with Yanni, an indigenous woman with deep knowledge of the rain forest. Together, they help MacCready navigate the unknown terrain. MacCready uncovers a diabolical Axis plot to destroy the United States and its allies. However, a darker force emerges, attacking at night and targeting both humans and animals. MacCready must identify the source of this biological crisis and stop the enemy's plans before it is too late.
