Holiday House Parties: Two Tales

Two Regency-era romance stories set during the Christmas season. "The Girl with Airs" follows Lord Dunvegan, a Scottish laird known to his friends as Geordie, who attempts to help his shy friend Sir Archibald Halford win the hand of Caroline Woolcott, an intelligent woman uninterested in either man. Geordie, sent to England to learn refined manners, has avoided commitment until now. When Geordie's father decides Caroline would be a suitable wife for his son, a kiss at a Lancashire estate changes both their minds. "A Sneaks on Tuesday" centers on Elinor Selby, who falls severely ill five days before Christmas, just as her betrothed, Julian Henshaw, Lord Lovebourne, prepares to return home after a five-year absence. Her longtime neighbor and childhood confidant, Miles Endicott, helps her through the crisis. When circumstances force Elinor and Miles into a deceptive scheme, unexpected feelings emerge between them. Both stories feature characters who discover unexpected love during the holiday season.
