How to Kill a Guy in Ten Dates: A Novel

A slasher rom-com in which Jamie Prescott, a cinephile, attends a speed-dating event with her best friend Laurie. When one of her dates is killed during a blackout, more bodies appear on the floor, and it becomes clear that a murderer is loose at the event. Armed with makeshift weapons and Jamie's knowledge of slasher film tropes, the remaining speed daters attempt to escape while the killer continues their spree. As the night progresses, Jamie suspects the murderer is committing the killings to woo one of the daters and turn them into a real-life Final Girl. She finds herself caught in a love triangle with two other survivors while fighting for her life. The novel follows Jamie as she uses her encyclopedic knowledge of romance and horror genres to navigate the deadly night and determine whether she will survive to find her Happily Ever After.
