It Happened on the Lake

Harper Reed Prescott owns a Victorian house on a private island in Lake Twilight, Oregon, but she wants nothing to do with it. Twenty years earlier, her grandmother died under suspicious circumstances while in Harper's care on the same night her boyfriend vanished. His body was never found and no charges were filed, yet rumors have persisted. Other deaths and accidents have followed, all connected to Harper and her family. Now divorced with an estranged college-age daughter, Harper plans to sell the property and start over. Returning to the lake, however, has revived old whispers and memories. She feels watched as she looks out at the houses across the water. The town has long suspected Harper is hiding something—and she is. But she may have more to fear than she realizes.
