About this book

A classic thriller set at Jamaica Inn, a remote location on the moors. Young Mary Yellan arrives on a November evening to honor her mother's final wish, only to discover her aunt Patience living in fear of her husband, Uncle Joss Merlyn. As Mary settles into the inn, she becomes aware of dangerous activities hidden within its walls and finds herself drawn to a man she cannot fully trust. The novel combines elements of shipwreck and murder, exploring themes of suspense and deception. It was adapted into a 1939 film directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
