About this book

Lieutenant David Buckalew and nineteen surviving Confederate soldiers are stranded in the New Mexico Territory after a series of defeats in their attempt to claim the Southwest for the Confederacy. Facing hostile Comanches and Union forces, they begin their journey back to Texas. During their escape, Buckalew and his men discover the location of a Union weapons and ammunition cache. They plan to seize it before Union troops can retrieve it, hoping to turn the tide of the war in the South's favor. However, those guarding the cache for the North have their own plans to prevent the theft.
