No Ordinary Dog: My Partner from the SEAL Teams to the Bin Laden Raid

No Ordinary Dog tells the true story of Will Chesney, a SEAL Team Operator and military dog handler, and Cairo, a Belgian Malinois military working dog whose lives became inseparably linked. Beginning in 2008, when Chesney joined the SEAL canine program, he and Cairo trained and operated together on hundreds of critical missions in the war on terrorism, depending on each other for survival. In May 2011, Cairo was among the first U.S. military members on the ground in Pakistan during Operation Neptune Spear, the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound. Cairo was the only name made public following the mission. After returning to duty as a DEVGRU operator, Chesney suffered a brain injury and PTSD from a grenade blast in 2013. He experienced crippling migraines, chronic pain, memory issues, and depression that modern medicine could not adequately treat. Cairo again became essential to Chesney's survival, while Chesney in turn provided care for Cairo when the dog needed him most.
