Harry, a former marine, and his wife Sasha purchase a home on over forty acres in Idaho's Teton Valley, hoping to escape urban life and live off the land with their golden retriever, Dash. Their neighbors, Dan and Lucy Steiner, warn them of a malevolent spirit inhabiting the valley that manifests differently with each passing season. Initially dismissing the warning as folklore, Harry and Sasha soon encounter the first evil manifestation when spring arrives. As seasons progress, the spirit grows stronger and more dangerous, forcing the couple to confront phenomena that challenge their understanding of reality. The novel follows their struggle against escalating supernatural threats tied to the land itself.
