Practically Perfect: A Novel

Anna, a newly qualified interior designer, purchases a small cottage in need of extensive renovation, risking her savings and expertise on the project. The cottage's exterior is charming, but the interior requires significant work: it lacks a proper staircase, downstairs flooring, and reliable lighting, with only a sleeping bag and camping mat serving as temporary bedding. Anna's neighbor Chloe offers practical support through tea, wine, and companionship, along with a recently rescued greyhound named Caroline. As Anna begins to adjust to her new life and witness improvements to the house, Rob Hunter—a neighbor who is both attractive and difficult—arrives and creates additional complications.
