Reality Testing is set in Berlin during a climate crisis, where green tech pioneers hold power and those unwilling to serve them are considered expendable. Mara Kinzig accepts an offer from a dreamtech company: she can earn carbon credits by sleeping in a tank. However, while she is dreaming, someone alters the terms of the arrangement. When Mara wakes, she finds herself with a corpse, an unexplained second voice in her mind, and law enforcement pursuing her. Her only potential allies are the Vanguard, a group of outcasts operating as a Foreign Legion and seeking an alternative way of life in the territories between city states. To survive, Mara must first navigate the dangerous streets of Berlin and determine what went wrong.
