About this book

This first novel in the Revelation Space universe follows scientist Dan Sylveste as he investigates the Amarantin civilization, which was destroyed nine hundred thousand years ago just as it was approaching space flight. Fearing history may repeat itself, Sylveste pursues answers about what caused their annihilation, forming an alliance with the cyborg crew of the starship Nostalgia for Infinity to aid his research. As Sylveste draws closer to uncovering the truth, he becomes the target of a killer. The Amarantin were destroyed for a specific reason, and revealing that reason could fundamentally alter the universe and reality itself.
